Spiritual Care

Our Spiritual Care team walks alongside patients and families during times of illness, uncertainty, and healing. Working closely with the healthcare team, we offer emotional, spiritual, and limited social support to help create a meaningful and compassionate care experience throughout the medical journey.

Spiritual Care

Our Spiritual Care Team: Jamie, Mark, and Karen

What Does Our Team Do?

  • Offer emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff at Mammoth Hospital
  • Provide support during trauma, crisis, and unexpected events
  • Help patients and families navigate end-of-life concerns, including palliative care and hospice
  • Provide support to our hospital staff via peer support programs and our Healthcare Ethics Committee
  • Connect patients with additional resources by coordinating with hospital social workers and outpatient services

How We Provide Emotional and Spiritual Support

  • Introduction: Begin by introducing ourselves, explaining who we are, and sharing the support and services we provide.
  • Connection + Questions: Ask clear, thoughtful questions that open the conversation and help us connect with patients and families.
  • Listening + Understanding: Practice active, compassionate listening to better understand each patient’s unique needs.
  • Encouragement + Support: Offer encouragement and ongoing emotional and spiritual support—one of the most meaningful parts of our work.
