Todd Braner’s educational background is in the health sciences and agriculture, including licenses in Physical Therapy and Athletic Training from California State University, Fresno; a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo; and a Master of Health Science degree from the Northeastern and Harvard University (Massachusetts) Physician Assistant Program.
He has worked in orthopedics for over 28 years—initially in Physical Therapy and for the last 23 years as a Physician Assistant at Sierra Pacific Orthopedic Center. As part of their team, he has spent his career treating patients from the mountains to the Central Coast and everywhere in between. He has specialized in general orthopedics and trauma, completed an upper extremity fellowship, and more recently focused on spine surgery with Dr. Telles’ Fresno-based spine practice. These experiences have allowed him to evaluate and treat the whole patient, from general orthopedic conditions to complex spinal issues involving the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.
Todd’s past sports and hobbies include college and semi-pro hockey, motorcycle racing, and sport bikes. He maintains a cabin at Shaver Lake, where he enjoys hiking, mountain biking, riding motorcycles, cutting firewood, and working on various cabin projects. He also maintains a historic family ranch in New Cuyama, California.
More recently, his passion has turned to aviation. In his free time, he became a Certified Flight Instructor (CFII) and Commercial Pilot. He trains student, private, and commercial pilots before and after his office hours.
Todd is married to his wife, Josephine, and together they have three daughters; they are now empty nesters. He grew up on a farm on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley, an upbringing that shaped his strong work ethic and his appreciation for agricultural life.
He is excited to begin a new chapter of his medical career with Mammoth Hospital and looks forward to meeting patients and helping Mammoth Orthopedics navigate and treat spine-related conditions.
