Biography

Dr. Timothy Cragun is a board-certified dermatologist originally from Ogden, Utah. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Weber State University and graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. He completed his Family Medicine residency in 2002 and practiced as a family physician until 2008, when he began pursuing his true passion—dermatology.

Dr. Cragun completed his dermatology residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas in 2011, where he served as chief resident. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 2019. During his military career, he had the honor of caring for service members and their families while living and working in many locations around the world.

He currently splits his time seeing patients in San Antonio, Texas, and Mammoth Lakes, California, and has been privileged to care for patients in Mammoth Lakes, Bishop, and surrounding Eastern Sierra communities since 2016.

Dr. Cragun’s clinical interests include the treatment of acne, skin cancer, psoriasis, eczema, and the use of lasers for the aging face. He is fluent in Spanish and thoroughly enjoys caring for Spanish-speaking patients.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Cragun is a devoted husband to his wife of more than 30 years, Ami, whom he affectionately calls his “girlfriend.”  He is the proud father of four children (plus a son- and daughter-in-law) and ‘Papi’ to four grandchildren. Dr. Cragun loves traveling, hiking in the mountains of the Eastern Sierra, all things BYU, is an avid runner, mediocre skier, struggling golfer and a recovering Diet Coke drinker.
