Biography

Cara was raised in Saint James, NY and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, ranging from wilderness therapy to the operating room. Cara sought out Mammoth Lakes because of her love of the Eastern Sierra and her desire to serve a rural community.

Cara comes to Mammoth Hospital most recently from the University of Utah, in Salt Lake City. She chose to complete her PA training at the University of Utah’s Physician Assistant Program because of its focus on family medicine and service to rural communities. Cara is passionate about family medicine because of its role in preventive health.

Cara thrives on identifying barriers to health and creating paths to transcend them with her patients. She aspires to become a home base for patients to bring their health concerns, knowing that she will integrate all aspects of their care.

Cara moved to Mammoth in 2017 with her husband, Andrew, and their Norwegian Elkhound, Loki. She is excited to be part of the Mammoth Lakes community and looks forward to building strong therapeutic alliances with her patients. In her spare time, Cara enjoys backpacking, climbing, reading, yoga, biking, cooking and snowboarding.
