Biography

Dr. Ashim Ahuja was born and raised in Los Angeles. He studied Classics and Neuroscience at UCLA and attended medical school at St. George's University in Grenada. After finishing one year of Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, he completed his Neurology residency at LA General Hospital and University of Southern California, followed by a combined fellowship in both Memory and Movement Disorders at University of Southern California.

Dr. Ahuja practices as a General Neurologist with expertise in neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Tics, Tremor, Concussion, and other disorders of movement and cognition. He is also proficient in the use of Botox to treat migraine, dystonia, spasticity, blepharospasm, and hemifacial spasm.

Dr. Ahuja's approach to care is humanistic, focusing on the whole person, and partnering to find the best individualized treatment plan for his patients and their caregivers. He views the mind and body as one being, and he brings this perspective into his practice by counseling on the benefits of lifestyle, diet, exercise, mental health, and mindfulness. Dr. Ahuja is also interested in psychedelic therapy, an emerging topic in neuroscience. Dr. Ahuja has enjoyed skiing in Mammoth since he was a child, and he is looking forward to joining the community. He also enjoys hiking, cycling, camping, reading, and cooking.
