Biography

Dr. Markel is a former whitewater rafting guide from Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University and went to medical school at Loma Linda University School of Medicine with an interest in global health and wilderness medicine. He trained at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. 

He feels lucky to serve our local community and visitors as an Emergency Physician at Mammoth Hospital and enjoy the magic of the Sierra in his free time.
