January 27, 2010 - Parents of Autism Support Group
The next autism support group meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 1/27th, 6-8:00pm, in Mammoth Hospital’s SPORT Center, 3rd floor conference room. Guest speaker is Dee Di Gioia presenting Bullies In My School: Positive action for parents, educators, and students. Since this is a meeting with a guest speaker, it is open to the public. March 17, 2010 - Cancer Support Group
The participants of the Cancer Support Group are an informal group, all facing cancer, who join together to provide mutual assistance in an understanding and confidential setting.

We all, at one time or another in our lives, experience some degree of grief. Mammoth Hospital provides a Grief Support Group. This group meets the first and third Wednesday of the month in the support room from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. For more information on this group, please contact facilitator Fred Weatherly at (760)934-3122.

March 31, 2010 - Autism Support Group
Autism Support Group meeting 3/31/10, 6-8:00pm, Mammoth Hospital, con room A/B. This meeting is open to the public. Guest Speaker, Nicholas Dogris, PhD, on “Neurotherapy: The Energetic Wave of the Future.” Neurotherapy approaches can reduce, and sometimes eliminate, symptoms associated with head injury, depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism and traumatic brain injury. New approaches such as Z-Score Training and NeuroField will be covered along with older methods such as the Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) and traditional EEG neurofeedback approaches. Dr. Dogris will present data showing the effectiveness of these treatments along with a portion of the talk dedicated to question and answers. Emergency Care Class Calendar
Mammoth Hospital is offering emergency care classes to the community on the following dates. There must be a minimum of five students in order to offer the course. Class participants must pre-register at the Education Department. Registration closes one week prior to the start of each class. Classes are offered in the hospital administration conference rooms, see times below. Refunds will only be given with a one-week notice less the cost of the book ($13.50). If you loose your card, there will be a $10 replacement fee. Call 924-4105 for more information.
American Heart Association Heartsaver/AED Adult, Child and Infant CPR: (For non-medical personnel) $55.00/person The Heartsaver AED (Automated External Defibrillator) with Pediatric CPR course teaches the basic techniques of adult and pediatric CPR and use of an AED. Students also learn to use barrier devices in CPR and give first aid for choking to responsive adult, child, and infant victims. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and choking. The intended audience for this course is responders such as police, airline personnel, security personnel, corporate employees, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other rescuers, and those who need or want to learn CPR and how to operate an AED.

American Heart Association First Aid: (AHA online fee + $25/person for hands on skills check with instructor) First Aid classes are now available online through the American Heart Association. Once the online class is complete you must test out with one of our instructors to complete the process. There is a fee for taking the online class with an additional fee for the test out portion. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Recertification CPR: $55.00/person The BLS Healthcare Provider Recertification Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is intended for certified healthcare professionals. You must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card to take this course.
Intended Audience:
Healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician's assistants, residents or fellows, or medical or nursing students in training, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other health care professionals.
